Ronahî TV is a general Kurdish oriented entertainment and news television programme station. It has broadcast its programmes since 2012. Its mission remains the same: to primarily entertain and then to inform the Kurdish
community, which it achieves to a massive degree.
Its programme schedule offers twenty broadcasts in Kurdish and Arabic throughout the day. The editorial brief takes
into account a wide variety of subject areas: from political to social, economic to cultural in creating these programmes. The TV news reports the highlights of the latest issues in the Syrian Kurdish territories and the wider Arab world. The most popular information series include such documentaries as “INSIDE Syrian Kurdistan” and “Dawiya Roje”. As well as this, there are many TV series which address a number of diverse themes relating to Kurdish popular culture observable with the highly regarded “TEVNA Jiyane”, “Viyer” or “ROJEVA Bakur”. At Ronahî many TV programmes are also centred around the arts and culture of the Kurdish people today. Not only that, it includes some talk shows with entertainers and other popular guests within the ever changing Kurdish community. The programmes that seem to attract the most viewers are at the moment “Zindi”, “Seva hicran”, “Deriyê Din” or “Sevin”.
Ronahî TV is accessible from any country in the Middle East, Europe, North Africa and around the Mediterranean basin by use of the Hot Bird satellites especially the people speaking Kurdish and Arabic.
Eutelsat SA, the French satellite provider hosting over 6000 televisions channels, has notified on 14 April 2017 its intention “to remove” the signals of Channel News, Ronahi TV and Sterk TV, three Kurdish language television channel broadcasting from EU countries to Kurdish speaking audience in Turkey and Syria
